Lingerie Secret Valentine 2023: An Ode to Independent Lingerie Creators


Brought to life by Karolina Laskowska, the Lingerie Secret Valentine is a fun gifting event between independent lingerie brands to support each other and show appreciation for this talented community that we are a part of. Every brand is matched to another indie label who will receive a curated gift, and vice versa. I was so excited to be part of it for the first time this year and to surprise someone with a secret lingerie set. Find out below what look I choose to gift and what I received in return.



Timeless Opulence: CKOU


I chose to gift timeless opulence with the all time classic CKOU lingerie set: a soft triangle bralette with a wide supportive under band and a matching high leg tanga string. The ensemble is crafted from brass golden French lace finely stitched on a sheer black base and finished with velvet touch trims and subtle crystal adornments.


This bralette style is particularly flattering on smaller breast sizes with its cups slightly spaced apart for a visually more flattering look. The super high leg line cut on the string elongates the figure and creates a stunning silhouette. The super soft wide elastics are gently hugging the curves without digging into the skin, and equally provide additional support on larger sizes. I am so thrilled that my giftee Hannah from Covert Behavior loved her set.

My Secret Valentines Gift: by Toru + Naoko


I was beyond excited to receive a curated selection of bras and pants by the Chilean brand Toru + Naoko. They are an an indie label that locally hand craft minimalist lingerie on a small batch production basis and offset their Carbon footprint with help of a non-profit organization. They further use recycled packaging and low waste fabric cutting techniques.


I received the Audrey mono wire bra, Lina wired bandeau bra with high waist panty, and Luna bralette and matching thong. I love the simplicity and clean finishes of the garments, and the hand feel of the meshes and trims used is incredibly soft against the skin. I certainly see myself wearing these items on a regular basis as they hug my curves just in the right places.
